Band Exposure- Miss Construction

well, before i begin, merry Christmas! my present to you is this wonderful European band. because again, they are very underground, i can find little info on them. (to be honest i don't have much time to look either.) but i can tell you they are an EBM/industrial/dark electro band. They're incredibly harsh, so if you like giving others a headache, they are perfect for your cause, and their sound is also quite energetic, you do an industrial dance to this if you like! anyway enjoy Zombified  and fuck you bitch below!

Band exposure, Tristania

far out, i keep getting lazy on here. but in the need of a new post, Ive decided to keep the bands rolling though,. Today I'm sharing Tristania, a Norwegian band, that formed in 1996. They are female fronted symphonic metal/goth/slightly industrial band. They sound most like theatre of tragedy, nightwish, Theatres des Vampires etc; Initially, they were pretty stereotypical, of a symphonic band, smooth ghostly female vocals, and brass/strings brought out in the background. but these days they have made excellent use of harsh sounds, creating much more atmosphere. Like any band, members have come and gone, but of course all for the better.

Band Exposure, Strict regime

Strict regime is an EBM/industrial/dark wave/experimental band and like much of my music, very underground. They come from London (UK) and have started working on their first album. Like many bands, each individual member has at one point toured in other bands, and written their own music. They are pretty much in their early days but from listening to their few released songs, I'm quite positive they have a shit load more of good stuff coming!
i recommend you try and find their song "gridlock" as its one of my favourites, i would have posted it below in preference to their song "strict regime" but you tube is being highly frustrating right now. Anyway, i hope you enjoy!

Sleaze bands, Glamour punks

Long time no see! since i haven't written anything about hair metal lately Ive decided to clean my act up a tad. Anyway, today I'm going to share glamor punks, and 80's punk band. Sadly there is very little information about them anywhere, due to their underground status. but nether the less, they are still worthy of mention!
they have one outstanding album and a small but very loyal fan base.  and if it makes you more interested,  i recall Andy Biersack once saying if he had a choice of any band other than black veil brides he would want to play for these guys! Anyway, here's a quick look at them below:

Indie

luckily, my friend is going to tell you about indie stuff, so here goes:

"Independent music is not just a genre, for many people it is a lifestyle. You may walk into a second-hand clothing store and realise that this is just not your scene, but for a small minority of people it is. They have houses with floral wallpaper, various kinds of stockings, a large variety of herbal tea, and an old record player. Not really. Some people like those things. Personally, I really do, but I'm not sure I would dedicate my entire home to something like that.

There are many bands fitted into the indie genre, but I don't like putting bands into genres and groups. Its like putting your friends into groups of best, close & good. So I just listen to a whole heap of bands, many that people have not even heard of, as my friends call me a hipster.
I really enjoy listening to bands such as Washington, The Wombats, Art Vs. Science, Foster The People, The Jezabels, Boy And Bear, Gypsy & The Cat, Jinja Safari, Josh Pyke, Vampire Weekend, Regina Spektor, Florence & The Machine, Marina & The Diamonds, LIGHTS, Dan Sultan, Cloud Control, Sparkadia, The Waifs, John Butler Trio, Bluejuice, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Missy Higgins, etc;"

well, you got that part from her! unfortunately she didn't have time to get into the visual aspect of it but i think i can give you an acceptable description from my (alternative) point of view:

Indie culture is often quit distinct for its combination of hippie and "old school dress code" fashions. Rather than the tight jeans and vibrant colours, it is quite common to see an "indie kid" (particularly girls) in loose clothes with vintage floral patterns, old knit cardigans, naturally coloured jeans, anti-short skirts, sandals or boots (no skate shoes.... EVER!!!!! converses are quite acceptable though)
Over all, they are quite happy folk, and while I would never consider immersing myself in the culture, I certainly wouldn't dis anyone who does, like anything (culture/music/fashion) it requires a certain amount of creativity to be a "good" indie, especially without becoming cliche!
Another thing that comes to my attention (and quite random to) is the indie bop, as their music is often quite folk orientated (well, right now most independent music is) its become a growing trend to awkwardly bop (almost like a squat motion where your feet are together) in tune with the music!

Overall i hope this gives you a good insight to indie culture/music/fashion, perhaps (if i can convince her) she submit another article regarding her fabulous world of Indie!

The Silver Shrine

The silver Shrine is another psychobily/rockabilly/gothabilly band, that is probably more publicised that the hellfreaks although i think i like the hellfreaks a tad more. nether the less, the silver shrine are pretty good!

Aesthesys

Next band to share with you! Aesthesys are a neoclassical/ambient/post-rock project (band) from Germany. recently Ive been listening to allot of their music but sadly they are very underground and very little is known about them. But i do know that their name comes from the term Aesthe, which has some sort of meaning of all knowledge in simplified language. Here is their song "i am free, that is why i am lost" posted by a fan back in 2010 (they haven't written any music of late so i dont feel the need to post their newest single etc;) Anyway, i hope you enjoy it!

 

Band Exposure: Children 18:3

i cant believe that i havent already show you this band! they are a punk/ska/garage rock band. their debut Ep was released in 2004 (im quite sure) and have released a total of 2 EP's and one full length album as far as im aware! anyway, you can have a peek below! (this song is called "the jack O lantern of dreams)

Mind.In.A.Box, Band exposure

I only just realized, that it has been to long since my last band exposure! The first band that cane to mind when coming to this realization was Mind.In.A.Box. Sadly, people know very little about this band, and so there is very little i can tell you, however i know enough to give you some general knowledge.

The band originates from Vienna, Austria. MIAB is an industrial/synthpop/ebm/electro band, the sound of their first few alums is mostly a combination of story telling conversations, along with introductory monologues all based on science, fantasy etc. Earlier this year, they just finished their fifth CD. you can view their homepage (which has a pretty cool layout) here at http://www.mindinabox.com/ the Video below is a fan-made, but Ive gotta say, some of the graphics are pretty cool!

The Glass Needle

so this is only a rough half finished sketch of whats going on in my head, but I'm sure you get the point. (i am truly sorry that the photo is angled and distorts this pic.) The needle is a concept of pain, and the hourglass represents the miserable society which is growing today. The way i see it, so many people are miserable, and they feed off others misery to feel good about themselves. the hourglass is a cliche example of this, as it requires the needle to function, unlike an ordinary hourglass.

Sleaze Bands part 3, Heart Throb Mob

I haven't added any sleaze lately, the next on a really long list is Heart throb mob. a relatively colourful band, with vibrant reds and at one stage, blues in amongst their hair. They lasted for a short five years before breaking up in 1997 and went through a total of five members. During their short time together they made two albums which go by the name of hit list and eat your heart out. Although their music career was short lived, i they have a really light hearted feel, something you can apply/dance to on any occasion! Throughout their music you'll hear good rhythm, nice guitar shredding and pleasant vocals.

Sleaze Bands Part 2, Frankenstein Drag Queens From Plannet 13

i really adore these guys! right now i have very limited time, so sadly i cannot give you anything about them, however just so you can meet them for yourselves, ill post a song! in quick summary, they are a sleaze band, they also fit into categories such as horror punk and metal. the song below is called the devil made me do it.

Taste it TV, image release

If you follow taste it TV on face book, you probably got notified of the image to the left, if you didn't here it is! (although its a few weeks old now) I just though id share it with you as everyone is familiar with my chemical romance, some more that others, even if they'd much prefer their old music. These days they are more easy going, and a little more colourful than their original aesthetic but they are certainly the same kids they used to be. on top of all of that, they've become more accepting of mainstream publicity, allowing their music to be on charts, with out killing it, that is. Bubble Goth

Due to the creative mind of Estonian artist Kerli Koiv, her visualization of the "bubble goth" is becoming an uprising trend. It Works off her idea of putting two things together that generally don't mix. In her instance, Goth pieces such as industrial masks and dread falls mixed up in pastel combinations and quite regularly stark white.

If you ever want to dress this way, weather it be for everyday or as a dress up her are some starting tips:

-Work with white, unless you know allot about her fashion and are quite experienced with it, Black is likely to make you look like the regular Goth

- Big hair! use dread falls and other artificial hair add ins (plaits work well to, if you want it fashion friendly). Make it effortless, its not a tidy look. Tie some ribbon if you like.

- keep your colour theme, like many goth fashions you need to do this strictly for the best results, try light and vibrant colours

- Tight clothing, it doesn't have to be revealing, wear singlets/corsets/corseting, stockings/fishnets and long sleeves if you like. Just not baggy

- Bulky shoes. heels, lace up platforms, furry ugg boots if your brave (artificially coloured, may be expensive)

- basic accessories, a ribbon bracelet or a pair of gloves (or a teddy mask? this can be viewed in her video army of love)

- don't be serious, its a fun fashion, it needs that "fun" feeling about it.

Overall just be interesting its quite fun to play around with, just step out of your comfort zone, experiment and you'll look fab!
